Escape rooms are all about fun, teamwork, and solving puzzles to make your way out. But there are a few things that you definitely shouldn't do if you want to have the best experience possible.
We've got a lot of advice on what to do in an escape room, but let's switch it up and talk about the DON'Ts.
Listen to Your Game Master
First off, listen to your game master. They're the experts, and following their advice will only enhance your experience.
No Smashing, No Crashing
Don't destroy props or furniture. Not only does it ruin the experience for everyone else, but it's also a quick ticket out the door.
Don't Poke the Bear
Next-Gen avoids those immersion-killing 'Do Not Touch' stickers. Still, use your noggin and don't mess with stuff that clearly shouldn't be messed with. Some escape room locations make use of 'Do Not Touch' stickers, so you should follow what the sticker says in those locations.
Keep Your Feet on the Ground
Climbing, forming human pyramids, and other acrobatics are a no-go. All clues are reachable without circus stunts, we promise.
Bathroom Etiquette
It's totally cool to use the restroom during the game, just exit the room before doing your business. Don't make it awkward for everyone, alright?
Leave the Outlets Alone
Outlets are not part of the game. Messing with them is a bad idea and won't help you escape.
Sober Fun is Better
Coming in drunk or high? Bad form. It's not only unsafe but also ruins the vibe for your teammates.
And there you have it! Stick to these DON'Ts and the DOs will fall into place. Have a blast escaping!
